Robin was one of Excel’s founding team members back in 2003. Her own grown children are Excel alumni. She has been happily married to her husband Mike for almost 41 years and together they share 3 children and 3 grandchildren. Her favorite bible verse is Psalm 19:14. She enjoys spending time with family, reading and crossword puzzles. Robin has always loved Excel because of the students, and how Excel invested into the lives of her own children. You’ll often see her at our sporting events cheering on our Warriors!
Terri was a home school mom who started working for us in 2013. She has been happily married to her husband Rob for 36 years, and together they have 2 grown children. She attends Horizon Church and her favorite Bible verse is Psalm 56:3. When she isn’t at Excel she enjoys hiking and cooking.

Linda has been working at Excel for over 13 years now, and is happy that 2 of her 4 grandchildren attend school here. She is passionate about Jesus and worship, and she attends Reno Assembly of God. One of her favorite Bible passages is Ephesians 1:3-8. She has been happily married to her husband Michael for 45 years, and together they have 3 grown children. Linda enjoys reading, hiking, and golfing in her free time. Being at Excel allows her to fulfill God’s calling on her life through worship and teaching, and she loves being able to teach His Word to the students. It’s a blessing to see them grow in their faith and step into the call that God has for them.

Karen has been working at Excel since 2021 and as a reading specialist for 10 years. She has three children and has been married to her husband, Steve, for 29 years. She loves animals, horseback riding, reading, and traveling. Karen loves working at Excel because she loves seeing all children become successful readers. Her favorite bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6.

Diane has been working part-time at Excel as a school nurse and Pre-K support staff since 2018. She has worked in various settings as an LPN for over 40 years. Diane has been married to her husband Earl for the last 13 years. She has two grown children and 2 grown step children. Diane attends Christ Anglican Church and her favorite verse is John 3:16. She enjoys exercising, singing, and traveling. Diane loves working with the “littles” at Excel!
This is Janice’s fourth year working at Excel; she comes to us with a background in customer service. She is the mother of 5 grown children and 2 grown grandsons. She attends Harvest Family Fellowship and her favorite Bible verse is Psalms 57:2. Janice enjoys swimming, baking, and being with her family. She loves being around the Excel students and awesome staff!

Kelly is in her second year working at Excel, although her children have attended since 2015. She is on the elementary support staff doing reading intervention. She graduated from Utah State University in 2005 where she met her husband, Nate. They have been married for 18 years and together they have 3 wonderful children: Kaetlie, Delaeney and Ace. Kelly and her family attend Calvary Chapel Reno- Sparks. Her favorite Bible verse is John 16:33. She enjoys spending time with her family and watching her kids play sports. She is grateful to be a part of the Excel family because of the wonderful people here who love Jesus.
Mike has been helping to make Excel excel since 2015. He came to us with handyman and hardware store management experience. Mike has enjoyed serving in the children’s ministry at Summit Christian Church for the last 10 years, and counting. He is also very involved in the men’s ministry as well. He enjoys Disney, and is a fan of the Vegas Golden Knights and San Francisco 49ers. His favorite Bible verse is Ephesians 2:10. He loves working at Excel because “It is so much more than a school. God is welcome here. In that environment, all things are possible.”

Freida serves as our school nurse once each week. She brings to the job her many years of experience in nursing, including surgical and ICU. She is the mother of 3 boys, 2 of whom are Excel students. She attends Sparks Methodist Church and her favorite bible verse is Ephesians 6:10. She enjoys baseball, gardening and baking. What she loves about Excel is the atmosphere and Christian love.

Vickie has been involved at Excel since 2013, when Legacy Christian School merged with Excel. She started here as our school nurse, but it wasn’t long before she was teaching Health and other electives. She was pulled into teaching English and Speech and Debate when the administration noticed her strong writing skills and her love for literature. Vickie has been happily married to her husband, Ted, for 24 years and together they share 4 grown children, 2 of whom are Excel alumni. She attends Harvest Family Fellowship and her favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 11:27. She enjoys needle crafting, genealogy and reading. The best part about being at Excel for her is the kids!

Allison has been working with children for over 8 years, working the last 4 as a nanny. Allison has also worked as a policy specialist, advocating for survivors of DV and SA. This is Allison’s first year at Excel and she is excited for many more here. Allison attends Living Stones Church and her favorite bible verse is Psalm 91. She enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Bruno and Max, and has a deep interest in the health and wellness space. Allison’s favorite part about working at Excel is being able to worship and openly live as a child of God amongst the staff and children.

Lauren Forbus, Special Education Department Director, holds a Masters of Education with a specialization in Special Education. Raised in Reno/Sparks, she’s a devoted member of Summit Church. Beyond academia, Lauren cherishes moments with her two dogs, Daisy and Harley. Her passion lies in tailoring education to align with each student’s unique cognitive processes, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
